Increase in NHS Dental Charges

We would like to inform our valued NHS patients about an imminent increase in NHS dental prices. At the same time, we are keen to emphasise that Ruabon Road Dental Practice will not benefit from this price increase in any way. The additional revenue raised will not be passed on to our dentists or dental practice.
NHS dental care will continue to be subsidised but the percentage of funding from the government will be less. The price increase from 1st April is to offset the reduced contribution towards your dental treatment previously paid by public funds.

The increased prices are set by the Welsh Government and from the 1st of April 2024 are as follows:
Band 1 - £20
• Examination
• Diagnosis, advice and X-rays
• Fluoride varnish & fissure sealant
• Further treatment planning

Band 2 - £60
Everything in band 1 plus additional treatment such as:
• Fillings
• Root canal work
• Removing teeth
• Periodontal treatment

Band 3 - £260
Everything in band 1 & 2 plus more complex procedures:
• Crowns
• Dentures
• Bridges

Urgent treatment - £30
Our policy regarding NHS payments remains with NHS Band 2 treatments paid in full at the time of booking. NHS Band 3 treatments can be paid in instalments and must be paid in full before your final appointment is due.
