NHS Dentistry Reform in Wales
Posted on 07/04/22
From 1st April 2022, Public Health Wales has changed the structure of its dental service as part of a reform programme that will ensure dental care is accessible to everyone in Wales.
Access to dentists across the country has been an increasing concern over the years. To address this problem Public Health Wales has made radical changes. Dental access will be prioritised, based on needs and risks rather than demand. It is deemed reasonable for the NHS to prioritise dental care towards patients who need it rather than recall patients with healthy mouths simply because they are on a practice list. Full details on how Ruabon Road Dental Practice will be implementing the reform programme and the impact it will have on our patients will be posted in this month's newsletter.
