On-line Consultations Now Available

After months of design, programming and trialling we are pleased to announce the launch of Ruabon Road Dental Practice's Virtual Consultation Room. It is relatively new technology in dentistry so we are excited to be part of it and hope that it allows our patients to receive the best care possible. This safe and secure service has been carefully designed to work as an effective tool in its own right and not merely as a temporary fix or a novelty feature for the lockdown period. Whilst the concept may seem simple, establishing the virtual consultation framework has been a complex process. It isn’t simply a case of pressing the ‘host meeting’ button. It is vital that we respect patient confidentiality and comply with data protection laws when accessing personal records and dental history so we can give a thorough consultation. The DOVE (Digital on-line Video Exam) is designed to enhance the high level of customer service we currently provide at Ruabon Road and will become an integral part of the dental treatment experience. The benefits of our Virtual Consultation Room will be recognised long after Lockdown and Social Distancing. Dental Treatment Plans will be accessible to those who find it difficult to attend the Practice for their initial consultation. Appointments will be booked in advance via e-mail and hosted securely on-line. Dentists will be able to screen-share x-rays with the patient, provide prescriptions and referrals and offer guidelines to oral health care as well as discussing options and devising treatment plans for smile makeovers.
